BJP spokesman Yashwant Sinha said that it was indeed a sad day for Indian democracy that a person who was Prime Minister of the country for five years should face such a situation and that too on the charge of forgery.
He added that it was natural justice of a sort, since this was what Rao had planned for his opponents when he was in power.
