The city-based software company, Resonance Technologies, and OHM Systems, a US-based firm which provides manufacturing and supply-chain solutions, yesterday entered into a partnership for redesigning, developing and deploying the latter's next-generation web-based application.
OHM currently provides software for customer relationship management, manufacturing and logistic processing and supply-chain management. The web-enabled product will also include e-commerce system integration facility.
According to OHM vice-president, Catherine Anbil, the alliance will redevelop the company's application in tune with the changes in the industry. She said OHM will jointly bring about the new application by the year-end or in the first quarter of 2001. "That will be our aim," she said here yesterday.
Catherine said it was common practice in the software industry to redesign a software every 5-10 years to absorb new technologies, including new functions and develop new markets.
"OHM has kept ahead of the changes with ongoing strategic enhancement. However, even with the updates and OHM's feature-rich application, the product requires a face-lift," she said.
Resonance Technologies president and managing director Ramesh Ravella said OHM Systems will take a 10 per cent stake in the alliance's equity capital worth Rs 1.5 crore. Resonance will be going for an initial public offering this year.
Resonance Technologies provides e-commerce and business-to-business portal solutions in vertical sectors.
