According to R M Agarwal, chairman of the company, the two employees who came out with the delivery from the National Stock Exchange office at Kamla Mill Road, Lower Parel, here were assaulted by four unidentified men.

These men snatched suitcases from our employees which contained share certificates worth Rs 18 lakh. We have filed a first information report at the Delisle police station.''

The incident took place at 1115 hrs. Our employees were badly injured. They called us immediately after the incident. We have informed the NSE and BSE and requested them to caution all their members from dealing in these stolen shares,'' Agarwal said.

When the NSE officials were contacted by this paper, a senior official denied to make any comment on the incident as they did not receive details about the quantity of shares robbed. We are waiting for details and a decision can be taken only after we get it.''

A copy of the FIR available with Business Standard states that the complaint has been registered against four unidentified youths of age group 20-22. The FIR states that the gangsters took away a handbag and a suitcase which contained 61,000 shares worth Rs 18 lakh bought a week back.
