German industrial group Siemens AG said on Wednesday it won a 30 million mark contract to supply lighting, monitoring, control and power systems for three airports in Uzbekistan.
Siemens industrial and building systems unit (ANL) won the order from Japans Mitsubishi Corp 8058.T 8058.T which is overseeing projects to update airports in Bokhara, Samarkand and Urgench.
The new equipment, which should be operating by this fall, would allow air traffic to continue under poor visibility conditions and would bring the airports up to international standards, Siemens said. Last year ANL modernised the airport in Tashkent, the Uzbeki capital.
