Traded Volume At Rs 814.14 Crore

Volumes were buoyant and prices of three- and four-year papers spurted on the wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange yesterday.
This was following the auction of four year paper on Wednesday, which was cornered by only a few players at the cut off yield of 11.68 per cent. However, there was a fall in prices towards close.
The total traded volume stood at Rs 814.14 crore.
The new loan 11.68 per cent 2002 was traded at a premium, at a weighted average rate of 11.61 per cent. It was dealt at a high of Rs 100.20 and a low of Rs 100.16 and closed at Rs 100.18. The 11.55 per cent 2001 saw 38 deals amounting to 194 crore at a weighted average rate of 11.40 per cent.
This security saw a high of Rs 100.32 and a low of Rs 100.19. There were 10 trades in the 12 per cent 1999, at a weighted yield of 9.65 per cent.
Volumes in the debentures segment amounted to Rs 7.75 lakh, of which the MRPL 16 per cent debentures maturing in 2002 comprised a major chunk of the traded volume. These debentures were traded for 4.89 lakh at an indicative yield of 14.12 per cent.
