The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange witnessed active trading as the market was dominated by surplus liquidity.

The day saw 48 transactions with the traded volumes touching Rs 313.24 crore.

The treasury bill segment saw a volume of Rs 39 crore and the commercial paper segment saw single trade worth Rs 10 crore.

The zero per cent government loan were in demand showing a total volume of Rs 95 crore.

The zero government loan maturing on 2000 (series two) saw eight trades and volume of Rs 50 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 10.93 per cent, at the low of Rs 85.25 and high of Rs 81.31.

The zero government loan maturing on 1999 was traded for Rs 20 crore at the weighted average yield of Rs 8.84 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 96.09 and high of Rs 96.12.

The 14 days treasury bill maturing on August 15 saw three trades for Rs 24 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 6.10 per cent.

The commercial paper of ABB maturing on November 02 was traded for Rs 10 crore at the yield of 9.90 per cent.
