The external affairs ministry should consider the idea of fixing the validity period for passports in a manner so that the renewal dates fall on the birth-dates of the passport-holders. This system exists in several countries.

If the idea gains popularity, then it can also be implemented in case of other personal documents like driving or arms licences etc.
