Asiad loss is big setback, road to Olympics is lot tougher now: Harendra

Chief coach Harendra Singh slammed the Indian hockey team for making silly mistakes in the Asian Games semifinal against Malaysia and said the 6-7 loss has made Olympic qualification a lot tougher. "Malaysia are the deserving winners. We committed too many unforced errors and paid the price. We did not keep things simple. We tried to show our Indian skills and by doing that we lost the momentum. It is a big setback for Indian hockey. The road to Olympics is a lot bumpier now. We missed the easiest chance to qualify," said Harendra. Click here to read what else India coach said

Jinson, women's 4x400m relay team win gold on final day in athletics' best show after 1951

The Indian 4x400m women's relay team today clinched its fifth consecutive Asian Games gold medal to maintain a remarkable domination in this event while Jinson Johnson won the men's 1500m final race as the country produced its best ever show in athletics since the inaugural 1951 edition. After six days of competition, India grabbed 7 gold, 10 silver and two bronze. The gold count was same as in 1978 and 2002 Asian Games but India had won a total of 17 medals in these two earlier editions as against 19 this time. Read full article here
