'Destination IT@North' in Chandigarh

The eight edition of the Annual IT event, Destination IT@North ’ is being jointly organized by Chandigarh Administration, Government of Punjab, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), would be held on November 22 - November,23 rd November, 2012, with ‘Transforming Future through IT’ as its theme

Prerna Puri, Secretary - Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration while announcing the event at a Press Conference here at CII NR Headquarters in Chandigarh, said they have partnered with CII this time with the aim to mobilise industry’s participation and enhance the scope of the event.

The objective of the event is to promote Chandigarh and the region as an ICT Hub.

The IT exports in the region last year were registered at Rs 1910 crore with officials anticipating 20% growth in the exports, this year.

The event will also include giving away of awards to emerging SMEs under different categories by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). PEC University of Technology, IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), Indian School of Business (ISB), Global Innovation & Technology Alliance (GITA) and NASSCOM are supporting the event. Over 250 IT entrepreneurs, experts, practitioners and executives are expected to attend the event.
