Personal Computer (PC) vendor Acer, is expecting its revenues to rise to Rs 1,100 crore this year, an increase of 40 per cent. Speaking at the launch of two new laptops, Acer India Managing Director W S Mukund said, "We are expecting 40 per cent growth in our revenues this year at Rs 1,100 crore, from Rs 869 crore last year."

The Aspire consumer and TravelMate commercial notebooks, priced at Rs 59,999 and Rs 69,999 respectively, are the first laptops to be launched in India with Intel's new Santa Rosa technology. The power saving features in the new laptops not only increase the battery life, but also enhance performance.

The new products will be available throughout the country in two weeks. The company plans to increase the number of its retail outlets in the country to 300 from the existing 250.

Acer recently moved up one pace as the third largest PC vendor, according to Quarter 1 data released by Gartner Dataquest. The company has a market share of 5.2 per cent in the desktop segment and 5.8 per cent in the notebooks space, according to Mukund.
