Agilent to set up life sciences facility in Gujarat

| The company has offices in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad with headquarters in Gurgaon. The company plans to invest $35 million (Rs 137.5 crore approximately) in India in the next one or two years. |
| Agilent Technologies, which will be setting up its first manufacturing facility by 2009 in India at Manesar near Gurgaon, provides measurement sciences in the segments of electronic and bio-analyticals. |
| The electronics segment consists of wireless, network & digital solutions and electronic instrument. |
| Whereas, through bio-analyticals segment the company works in the field of chemical analysis, Life sciences and Material Sciences. |
| Venkatesh Valluri, President and Country General Manager, Agilent Technologies said that the Testing and Measurement market in India is around haif a billion dollars. |
| He added that the company's newly opened Research and Development lab at Bangalore would support its world-wide operations. |
| He said that the company is focussed on developing a product portfolio targeting small and medium businesses (SMBs) for which it expects India and China to offer a great market potential. |
