Airtel expects to add a million subscribers in the next 9-10 months in Tamil Nadu.
 
Addressing a press conference, P Swaminathan, chief executive officer (Mobility), Bharti Airtel Ltd, said the company's subscriber-base in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, had just crossed the two-million mark.
 
The company was hoping to take the total number of customers in the state to three million by the end of March 2007.
 
Airtel added over one lakh customers in Tamil Nadu in the last few months and the company expects the same rate of addition for the rest of the months during this fiscal as well.
 
Swaminathan also said that the company had chalked out an expansion plan to expand its infrastructure and coverage in the state during this fiscal.
 
However, he declined to divulge the details about the required investment for this expansion.
