The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the Satyam Computer Services fraud case, was today granted custody, by the magistrate concerned of the five prime accused persons in the scam for seven days from March 10.
Satyam founder and chief, B Ramalinga Raju, his brother and former managing director, B Rama Raju, former chief financial officer, Vadlamani Srinivas, and the two Price Waterhouse auditors, S Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas Talluri, may be questioned from 10 am to 5 pm while in custody, in the presence of their lawyers. They would be produced before the court after the interrogation on March 17. All five are currently in judicial custody. Deputy legal adviser of the CBI, Ravindranath Bhalla, said custody of the accused was essential to give a proper perspective to the agency.
