Bharti Teletech, manufacturers and distributors of telecom and allied products, today won a Rs 350 million contract from state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), for manufacturing fixed line phones.

Under the contract, Bharti Teletech a subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises would manufacture and supply over 9 lakh CLIP phones for BSNL over a period of 5 months, the company said in a statement.

The phones would be manufactured at the company's manufacturing facility in Ludhiana where it has recently invested over Rs 50 million to augment capacity. Post the investment, the Ludhiana unit's annual production capacity reached up to five million.

Bharti Teletech CEO Sunil K Goyal said: "This contract not only highlights the high quality of products offered by Beetel but also serves to further our association with BSNL. I am confident that the association would be mutually beneficial for both the companies and the future would see us growing and further strengthening this strategic relationship. It is poised to go beyond supply of landline phones, as BSNL intends to procure Blackberry handsets through Bharti Teletech."

Bharti Teletech manufactures telephone instruments under the Beetel brand.
