Bharti Teletech rejigs top management

Bharti Teletech, the telecom manufacturing arm of Sunil Mittal's Bharti Group has rejigged its senior management to strengthen the core decision-making group in line with the company's mission to become the finest sales and distribution company by 2012.

The new team will look for emerging business opportunities. As part of the fresh appointments, Atul Jain joins the makers of 'Beetel' brand of phones as Director Sales & Distribution.

Atul, a 19 year old industry veteran joins from Jumbo Electronics Retail where he was country head & CEO and also has experiences in Godfrey Philips India, Bharti Airtel, Coca Cola India and Mc Dowell & Co, the company said.

Another key appointee Suresh Gupta joins as chief finance officer, and will be closely supporting CEO in finance, logistics & IT process initiatives in Beetel. He joins from IT peripheral company with Intex Technologies India.

Sandeep Tewari joins Bharti Teletech as head marketing & alliances, and will be supporting the CEO in Beetel brand building & acquiring new distribution alliances with technology principal partners. He was earlier with Videocon Group as the marketing head.

Commenting on the leadership strength of Beetel, Sunil K Goyal, CEO, Bharti Teletech said: "The new leadership team is ready to carve out a fresh wave of growth for Bharti Teletech." It has distribution alliance with Motorola, Sanyo, Polycom, Blackberry, Apple iPhone, Transcend, Casio.

The move is seen as an attempt to step up focus on leveraging the extensive distribution network to increase the range of offerings and is in talks with leading technology companies for distribution alliances.

Bharti Teletech also manufactures cordless, CLI, and basic phones, range of modems for broadband, and is the largest player in free to air set top box for DTH market.
