Dr IT Planets plans IT SEZ

Chandigarh-based Dr IT Planets Ltd, which is in the business of software development, research and business process outsourcing (BPO), has plans to set up an IT special economic zone (SEZ) in Greater Noida.
 
The company has been allotted 10 acres by the Greater Noida Development Authority for the SEZ. Besides, the company plans to increase its call centre seating capacity at Noida and to set up new call centre in Mohali (Punjab). The company has allocated Rs 25 crore for the projects.
 
Speaking to Business Standard, Dr IT Planets Ltd Executive Director (Corporate Affairs) Deepti Mahajan said: "The work on the proposed SEZ would start by next financial year. It would be a state-of-the-art and would also boast of incubation facilities for IT companies."
 
The company provides software development, integrated BPO solutions, contact centre operations, voice and web-based, high-end IT training, call centre operations, and software development for domestic and global clients from its operations centres in India. At present it has centres in Noida, Jaipur and Chandigarh.
 
Mahajan said, "In Punjab, we are setting up a 1,000-seater call centre in Mohali (Punjab), spread over 1 acre, which would be completed in phases. Also, we have plans to increase our call centre seating capacity in Noida from 400 to 600."
 
At present the company employs 300 people in Chandigarh centre, 500 people in Jaipur and 400 in Noida.
 
"At present we have representative office in New Zealand. The company has also floated a subsidiary, Dritt Inc, which is operational in USA and handles calling card business for the customers of the US and Canada in association with local partners," she said.
 
In the last fiscal, the turnover of the company was Rs 25 crore and this year the company hopes to reach a turnover of Rs 30-35 crore.
 
Recently, the company has set up an educational insitutes -- Dr IT Institute of Management and Technology and Dr IT Management School -- near Banaur in Patiala.
