Essar Telecom may launch own mobile brandBS Reporter / Hyderabad February 21, 2008Essar Telecom Retail, an Essar group company that operates multi-service telecom outlets under the brand name The MobileStore, is planning to introduce its own mobile brand besides looking at emerging markets in Asia."We are seriously looking at launching our own mobile brand, and offering a complete range of handsets - from low-cost phones to high-end mobiles - to offer better value to our customers. We are currently negotiating with a couple of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)," Rajiv Agarwal, chief executive officer and director, The MobileStore, said.Plans are also afoot to tap emerging markets like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh where the company intends to roll out its mobile outlets in the next six months, Agarwal said.Launching the company
