The new IT parks are proposed to be set up at Poppalaguda and Manchirevula villages in Ranga Reddy district in an area of 80 acres and 100 acres respectively. Besides, one more IT park is proposed at Yendada in Visakhapatnam district in a 31-acre area.
All the five locations for the proposed IT parks in Hyderabad including the Vattinagulapally park, which was subsequently cancelled by the government, were identified in the past itself. The decision to go ahead with the bidding of the remaining two IT parks was taken at a recent review meeting held by chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
The state government is buoyed by the overwhelming response it received from private bidders for the three IT parks as even after setting aside the Vattinagulapally proposal, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is expected to receive over Rs 550 crore from the other three bids, including the one in Vizag towards land price.
According to officials, part of the money would be invested in the development of infrastructure around these IT parks.
Since it is for the first time that the state government has proposed to introduce open bidding with an upset price fixed for each of these projects, officials want to go in a phased manner.
"We will soon start necessary work on the new IT parks for inviting tenders from private developers," a senior official told Business Standard on Wednesday.
