Mumbai-based Hurix Systems Pvt Ltd, an outsourced content and e-learning services provider, plans to hire 150 people, mostly arts and English literature graduates with good writing skills, for its Chennai operations over the next 12 months.
 
The company added over 150 people during last year in Chennai, taking the total headcount to about 200. The Chennai facility was set up in 2002.
 
Addressing a press conference, Viswamitra Hariharan, chief operating officer, Hurix, said the Chennai expansion came on the heels of significant expansion of its customer base.
 
At present, Hurix employs about 450 people in Chennai and Mumbai facilities. With the proposed additions planned in both the centres, the total headcount is expected to hit 600-700 by the end of this fiscal year.
 
Hariharan said that the e-learning industry was growing faster and the company was doing business with all the major global publishing houses. It has also set up offices in US, UK and Singapore.
 
Hurix reported a revenue of $ 4.5 million last year and is targeting a growth of 80-100 per cent over the next three years.
 
The company's hiring programmes include campus recruitment and professional training workshops. It has four business practices "� Hurix Technologies, Hurix Learning, Hurxi Education and Hurix Publishing. Its customers include LG Electronics, Government of Singapore, Cathay Pacific, DHL Express, Infosys Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Pepsi, among others.
