IMImobile, a Hyderabad-based provider of value-added services (VAS) for mobile operators and content providers, has acquired Mobytec in a part-cash, part-stock deal for an undisclosed amount – marking its foray into the social aggregation and phone book management services space. This is IMImobile’s second buyout in the UK, with the first being digital content delivery services provider dx3 in November 2008.
“The Mobytec acquisition is in line with the company’s vision to become a while label (providing technologies on a managed services model) services provider to 100 international operators in two years and 500 operators in five years,” IMImobile chairman and chief executive officer VR Vishwanath (Vish), told Business Standard.
Under the deal, Mobytec will be offered by IMImobile as a revenue-generating fully-managed while label service for mobile network operators (MNOs). Mobyko Limited, which developed the Mobytec technology platform, will continue as an independent entity offering mobyko.com branded services.
