Hyderabad-based technology solutions provider Infotech Enterprises Limited (IEL) has finalised a master agreement with Westinghouse Electric Company for the provision of engineering services in India. Westinghouse is a group company of Toshiba Corporation engaged in the supply of nuclear plant products and technologies.

Under the agreement, Infotech will augment the engineering resources of Westinghouse as it prepares for global nuclear energy business growth and will lay the foundation for Westinghouse nuclear power plant work in India. Infotech and Westinghouse officially inaugurated the newly-formed Westinghouse India Engineering Centre here on Wednesday.

“We are proud to be providing high value engineering services to Westinghouse complementing their effort in becoming a global nuclear powerhouse. This is the first engagement for outsourced engineering in India in the nuclear industry and further demonstrates Infotech’s strength in working in time and mission critical engineering industries,” IEL chairman and managing director, BVR Mohan Reddy, stated in a press release.

“Having skilled people working on our projects is critical to success. The people of Infotech have the proper skills, experience and resources to help ensure the success of our projects in the region,” president and chief executive officer Westinghouse, Aris Candris, said.
