| "It is a popular notion that additional energy is required to enhance performance of computers and processors. But we worked against these fundamental limits to produce energy efficient processors and servers. Eventually, these products will be available for the home PC market as well," he added. |

| Bhatt, who is also the Intel director (Platform Components and Interconnects Architecture), said the energy efficient products incorporated intelligent power capability, advanced digital media boost and smart access memory. |

| Conroe, a dual-core processor, can reduce power consumption by 40 per cent while delivering over 40 per cent improvements in computing performance. Woodcrest will reduce power consumption by 35 per cent while delivering more than 80 per cent improvement in computing performance. |

| "The industry trend is to start with the platform and advance to the architecture stage. But we have addressed the energy efficiency at the platform level itself. This has given us tremendous advantage in evolving these products. The processors for notebook, desktop and server platforms are designed on Intel's advanced 65-nanometer technology manufacturing process," he said. |
