Training and development company NIIT Limited, would train 1, 000 engineers by this academic year at its 12 centres in Andhra Pradesh.
Launching the ‘GNIIT for engineers’ programme here on Wednesday, Surojit Biswas, general manager, NIIT, said, “As Hyderabad is an IT hub, there is a great demand for industry-specific professionals in this field. The GNIIT for engineers is specifically designed keeping the engineering students, their already rigorous curriculum and career aspirations in mind.”
The three-year programme will have eight semesters and the course fee will be Rs 1.20 lakh. “Students will undergo complete software development life cycle project, followed by a six-month internship and a six-month personality development programme,” he added.
According to Nasscom, the industry headcount addition is expected to touch 200,000 new employees.
