ObjectFrontier Software (P) Ltd has set up a new offshore development centre in Chennai at an investment of $2 million and plans to hire about 100 professionals during this year in an attempt to support the targeted business growth.

The new centre, with state-of-the-art facilities, is the second and most modern in the company's portfolio in India. It will be formally inaugurated tomorrrow, a company release said.

With the total area of 21,800 sq ft, the offshore development centre will house over 200 professionals. The new facility has been designed for the company's blended delivery models and can accomodate all the necessities of its offshore business, the release added.

The decision to expand existing Chennai operations is part of the company's strategy to support the targeted business growth. The new facility is expected to help the company scale up its operations in order to become a $100 million company in the next five years, James Walter, chief executive officer, ObjectFrontier, said.

"We will be looking at subsequent enhancements to be implemented only at IT parks," he added.

Chennai-based ObjectFrontier, a $2 million-turnover company, develops and delivers software products and services. Its services include turnkey projects, fixed price contracts, men and material contracts and level-of-effort maintenance contracts.
