KPIT Cummins, a product engineering and IT consulting partner to manufacturing companies, said it has partnered with PACCAR to launch the PACCAR technical center in the city. The center, with approximately 200 employees, will focus on engineering, information technology and component sourcing for worldwide production and aftermarket operations.
PACCAR is a technology company in design, manufacture and customer support of premium light-medium-and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF name plates. The company also provides customised financial services, information technology and truck parts related to its principal business.
"KPIT is well positioned as a partner for PACCAR for several reasons. First, KPIT has deep automotive industry experience, secondly KPIT brings both product engineering and IT skills to support PACCAR's needs more broadly and finally KPIT brings operations expertise and infrastructure that fits well with PACCAR's vision. The PACCAR center will be located near KPIT's main campus in Hinjawadi in the city," said Kishor Patil, managing director and chief executive officer, KPIT Cummins.
"PACCAR is pleased to be partnering with KPIT as they are leaders in providing world-class information technology and product development support, particularly in the automotive sector," said Dan Sobic, executive vice president, PACCAR.
The PACCAR India technical center will deliver quality resources to its global engineering and IT organisations, and enable PACCAR to accelerate new product development.
