The telecom engineering services (TES) division of Prithvi Information Solutions Limited, a Hyderabad-based software consulting, outsourcing and business solutions company, is expecting its order book and sales pipeline to reach up to Rs 500 crore by the next financial year, on the back of the emergence of new operators and existing operators growing in India, Brazil and other emerging markets.

“Impact of 3G roll out and new operators entering the market would further help in expanding our already strong order book and sales pipeline,” Sobhan Partha, head (TES – Asia Pacific region), said in a press release on Thursday. “The TES has clocked orders of Rs 100 crore in 2009, and has completed close to 15 per cent of the new network roll outs in India.”

It is estimated that the telecom operators will add close to 150,000 new sites as part of their regular mobile user addition programmes in 2010, Partha said, adding that with the much anticipated 3G roll out expected to happen this year, close to 50,000 sites had been upgraded replacing the existing 2G equipment.

“In addition, new roll outs are expected for greenfield operators. The market size for telecom infrastructure, installation and commissioning and radio frequency services is about $8 billion in India,” he said.

The scrip of Prithvi ended the trade at Rs 61.55 on the BSE today, down 0.32 per cent over the previous close of Rs 61.75.
