Quippo-WTTIL, the independent telecom infrastructure company signed a five year multi-million dollar Integrated Managed Services (IMS) agreement with IBM.
IBM will provide comprehensive technical support to overhaul Quippo-WTTIL's IT infrastructure system which will include managing the hardware, mailing and infrastructure management software applications.
The agreement is a step towards creating a unified IT environment for the successful functioning of the joint entity Quippo-WTTIL. The technology services provided by IBM will synchronise the company's business processes enabling operational efficiency.
As a part of the agreement, IBM will deploy server and storage support, networking and security services at QUIPPO-WTTIL's hosted data centre in Gurgaon. IBM will also host and manage Quippo-WTTIL's Lotus Notes and provide managed services for all offices across the country.
"With focus on customer centricity and innovation, it was crucial for us to blend the IT requirements with our business objectives, especially in today’s competitive environment. With this agreement, our aim is not just to have an IT partner but an enabler of growth that can help us enhance our operational efficiencies which will, in turn, benefit our operator partners," said Arun Kapur, CEO, Quippo-WTTIL.
"Mobile telephony is growing tremendously all over the world especially in growth markets such as India, and communication service providers are choosing IBM to help deliver next generation services to keep pace with market shift and customer demand,” said Neeraj Sharma, director (integrated technology services), IBM India/South Asia.
