Wipro BPO is eyeing at 30 per cent growth for its Kolkata operations. The company plans to more than double its head count at its Kolkata centre from the current 4500.

According to Ashutosh Vaidya, head of Wipro BPO, “Our Kolkata campus can go up to 10,000 people, beyond that we will look for additional facilities in and around the area.”

Wipro claims to have one of the lowest attrition levels at close to 20 per cent. It claims that about 50 per cent of its employees have spent over two years at the Kolkata centre.

"Our aim is to take the recruitment drive further within tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India. The objective is not just to provide a short term job but to help employees build a long-term career in IT and ITeS," Vaidya added.

"We plan to ramp up our Kolkata facility as we see more traction for the BPO services in the near future. We would like to extend this opportunity to regions like Guwahati, Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, Bhilai, and Jamshedpur," Vaidya said.
