Wipro Ltd, a provider of IT and business transformation services, has entered in a strategic collaboration with Hitachi Data Systems to offer co-branded products and services on Hitachi Technology in India.
The first of its kind initiative in India, the charter is to jointly work on technology insights early in the cycle, co-develop products for the Indian market, and build solution sets, practices and services on core Hitachi technology. Commencing with Hitachi’s Adaptable Modular Storage 2100 (AMS 2100) range, this alliance will open up opportunities for growing organisations to adopt scaleable and tiered enterprise class storage. This is a first of its kind partnership that Hitachi has signed with any organisation in India.
Said Kevin Eggleston, senior vice president and general manager, APAC, Hitachi Data Systems, said, “We are extremely confident that this partnership will establish a new milestone in the Indian storage arena. Together with Wipro, we will present our enhanced offerings in modular storage .”
Added Ashok Tripathy, General Manager & Business Head, Systems & Technology Division, Wipro: “Our charter is to build and market
IT infrastructure solutions around open standards and technologies. Towards this, we adopt technologies that help make our customers’ systems and business scalable. Our alliance with Hitachi is a strategic step in this direction as it offers a proposition in modular and scaleable, enterprise-class storage.”
“Through the alliance Wipro will offer server-storage proposition to its customers which will help us penetrate deeper into various verticals and establish a wider customer base,” said Vivekanand Venugopal, VP and GM, Hitachi Data Systems, India.
The Wipro-Hitachi AMS 2100 range is a scaleable storage system with a set of features in a model that scales up to 120 disk drives and is apt for large and medium businesses. The Wipro-Hitachi AMS 2100 range has the ability to add capacity, and therefore is ideal for dynamic workloads such as a virtualisation environment. This product will be immediately available in the market.
“Growth-oriented emerging enterprises are increasingly looking for an IT partner who can work with them through their IT lifecycle and manage IT complexity. This is where the core technology of Hitachi complements Wipro’s technology management skills to deliver value to customers,” added Tripathy.
