 "Black Rose receives environment clearance to expand acrylamide plant")
Black Rose Industries Ltd has received environment clearance from the state level environment impact assessment authority of Gujarat for expansion of acrylamide plant in Jhagadia (Gujarat) from 10,000 metric tonne (MT) to 20,000 MT per year.
Based on environment clearance received, the company will now apply for ‘Consent to Establish’ from Gujarat Pollution Control Board in order to proceed further with its planned expansion in order to meet increasing customer demand. Black Rose Industries will invest Rs 5 crore for the expansion.
The company produces acrylamide solution, marketed under Brilmide, at South Asia’s first and only acrylamide plant set up using a bio-catalytic technology exclusively licensed from Mitsui Chemicals Inc of Japan. Acrylamide solution is a key monomer for the manufacture of polyacrylamides and other speciality polymers.
Besides acrylamide, the company consists of two other divisions – chemicals and textiles. The chemical division is engaged in the import, distribution, and export of a wide range of specialty and performance chemicals, the textile division manufactures fabrics and made-ups for industrial applications.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Black Rose has two manufacturing units in Jhagadia (Gujarat) and Kolhapur (Maharastra).
