National Fertilizers Limited has award contract to Nuberg Engineering for the construction of its sulphur bentonite plant project in Panipat on engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) and lump sum turnkey (LSTK) basis. The plant will manufacture 25000 metric tonne per annum (MTPA) of sulphur bentonite, a new type of environment friendly fertiliser used in agriculture sector for better productivity and yield.
Nuberg is among the niche global EPC & LSTK companies to have the capability to execute the specialty chemical project, from concept to commissioning. All heavy engineering equipment for the chemical plant will be fabricated and supplied from Nuberg’s manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
The Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister, Anant Kumar, had recently announced three major projects in Haryana which included a sulphur bentonite plant in Panipat. The project of executing this unique fertiliser plant is yet another achievement to Nuberg's growing portfolio of worldwide EPC & LSTK projects.
A K Tyagi, chairman, Nuberg Engineering, said, “We have always been present in the fertiliser industry and have successfully delivered projects on time but this notable project levitates us to the niche of the mix fertiliser industry. Our experienced engineering team and project professionals will utilise their extensive experience and expertise to place the project in the best position moving forward. This project adds to Nuberg’s depth of projects the company has participated in as well as strengthens its longstanding leadership position in EPC & LSTK projects globally.”
A boon to farmers, sulphur bentonite has the potential to take agriculture in India to new heights. Like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, sulphur bentonite is also an essential fertiliser for the crops and is induced in the soil in forms of small pallets. Regular use of this special fertiliser will protect the agricultural field from any sort of damage that happens due to the use of other chemicals. The sulphur bentonite fertiliser is a panacea for the soil making it fertile as a result increasing the yielding capacity of crops. This enhanced nutrient of crop will not only benefit the farmers but will also be advantageous for the consumers.
For NFL project, Nuberg’s EPC scope of work from concept to commissioning include process know-how, license and technology, technology, basic, FEED and detail engineering, fabrication, procurement and supply, construction and erection of all civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, installation, obtaining all necessary statutory approvals, testing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance guarantee test run including total project management and handing over the plant on single point responsibility basis.
