Gamesa has bagged a contract from ReNew Power, India’s leading renewable energy company, for a 50 MW turnkey project in Madhya Pradesh. The order will be commissioned by March 2017. As per terms of the contract, Gamesa will supply 25 units of G114 - 2.0MW T106 turbines which will be set up at Amba, Madhya Pradesh. Being a turnkey project, Gamesa will handle the entire infrastructure needed to install and operate the facility.

“We are proud to partner with Gamesa and this deal further strengthens our faith in Gamesa delivering cutting edge technology for their wind turbines. We have recently crossed 1,000 MW of commissioned wind energy assets and our relationship with Gamesa has played an instrumental role in making this happen,” said Sumant Sinha, chairman & CEO, ReNew Power.

Ramesh Kymal, chairman and managing director, Gamesa India, added, “We thank ReNew Power for this repeat order which signifies our strong technological foothold and project management capabilities in the Indian renewable energy industry. Such renewable energy projects strongly imply ReNew’s increasing commitment towards clean energy thus swiftly working towards achieving the Government’s vision of making India a clean energy nation.”

ReNew Power Ventures, an independent power producer (IPP) company, has more than 3,000 MW of commissioned and under-construction clean energy capacity across nine states in India. In March 2016, ReNew Power became the first company to cross 1,000 MW of commissioned capacity in wind and solar energy in India. The company is backed by marquee investors such as Goldman Sachs, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Asian Development Bank, and Global Environment Fund and has raised a total equity of $ 650 million so far.
