“Hong Kong offers something for everyone, from breathtaking sights and cultural experiences to kid-friendly activities. It is also a paradise for foodies and shopaholics, thanks to its diverse culinary and retail scene. The best part? It is visa-free for Indians,” recalls Neha Dhupia from her recent Hong Kong exploration.
Indoor And Outdoor Adventures For The Little Ones
From thrilling tram rides to hands-on noodle making fun, Hong Kong turned into the ultimate playground for the Dhupia-Bedi clan.

The Peak Tram: For Scenic Rides With A View

The family kicked off their Hong Kong escapade with a thrilling ride on the Peak Tram, a must-do experience to witness surreal views of the city.
One of the world’s oldest funicular railways, this 10-minute journey to Victoria Peak offers a breathtaking visual experience.

Monopoly Dreams: To Witness The Game Come To Life

Monopoly Dreams, the world’s first Monopoly-themed attraction, was a hit with the kids (and yes, the grown-ups too!).

Ding Ding Tram: For A Nostalgic Ride

No Hong Kong experience is complete without hopping onto the Ding Ding Tram, a vintage double-decker streetcar.

Cup Noodles Museum: For Creative Culinary Fun

For a hands-on experience, the family visited the Cup Noodles Museum, where they got all creative with their experiential workshops, customising their noodle cups and granola bowls.

 A Shopper’s Paradise

Hong Kong is a shopper’s paradise, and Neha and Angad made sure to indulge in some retail therapy.

Citygate Outlets : For Unbeatable Deals

At Citygate Outlets, Neha couldn’t resist the incredible deals. With over 150 world-renowned brands offering discounts up to 90%, this outlet mall is a must-visit for bargain hunters.

Tai O Fishing Village :  For A Local Shopping Experience

For a more rustic shopping experience, the Tai O Fishing Village, known as the “Venice of Hong Kong” comes recommended.
The village is known for its unique souvenirs, with shops selling dried seafood, shrimp pastes, and locally made sauces.
A Cultural Destination Like No Other
Hong Kong isn’t all about glitz and glamour, it also has a cultural side that one can immerse in.

Tian Tan Buddha and Wisdom Path: For Spiritual Serenity

A highlight of Neha and Angad’s trip was visiting Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, perched atop a lotus on Lantau Island.
This majestic statue is surrounded by six smaller figures representing the Six Perfections of life. After climbing 258 steps to the Buddha, the family walked the Wisdom Path, where 38 wooden pillars inscribed with the Heart Sutra prayer stand tall.
A Gastronomic Heaven
Hong Kong’s culinary scene is diverse, and the foodie family couldn’t get enough of the delicious revelation.

Po Lin Monastery: Sacred Feast For The Soul

The family relished lunch at Po Lin Monastery, indulging in a vegetarian feast featuring vegetable-packed soup, crispy spring rolls, stir-fried greens, yam fritters, and soothing tea.
From authentic cultural experiences like rinsing crockery and chopsticks with hot tea at the table to being served the freshest, flavourful dishes, vegetarian travellers will feel right at home here.

Citygate Outlet : For Quick Bites

During their visit to the mall, the family took a quick snack break at Blue Bottle Cafe, savouring avocado toasts bursting with flavour, alongside banana breads, waffles, and hot beverages.
“People think there are no veggie options in Hong Kong, but honestly, every fine-dine, every kiosk, they all have fantastic vegetarian choices. It is a burst of flavours!” she shares.

Seafood at SaiKung: For Fresh Feast By The Sea

Seafood lovers have plenty to look forward to as well. At Sai Kung, the family enjoyed a lavish seafood feast, right by the sea.

Michelin-Star Meal: For A Luxe Experience

Neha and Angad indulged in a world-class fine-dining experience at Petrus, located in the Shangri-La.  The city boasts an array of Michelin-star restaurants.
A Blissful Getaway
Beyond the fun and adventure, Hong Kong also offers tranquil moments for you to unwind.

Aqua Luna: For A Magical Evening

Neha and Angad took a break from their parenting duties and enjoyed a romantic cruise aboard Aqua Luna, a vintage Chinese junk boat that sailed across Victoria Harbour.

Sharp Island: To Explore Hong Kong’s Hidden Gem

Neha and Angad’s final stop was Sharp Island. Known as the most convenient Geopark attraction in Hong Kong, Sharp Island offers beautiful beaches, clear waters, a short hiking trail, and volcanic remnants.

This summer, let Hong Kong be your family’s next memorable adventure!
