"As far as social media is concerned, what we do is that we have certain protocols to monitor, and our teams keep looking at them, but considering the volumes that are generated, it may not be possible to look at everything that's happening. But anything of serious concern is looked into and then we do ask for report... our teams look into that, and if there is any violation of any of the guidelines, it is reported to the Election Commission who takes necessary action," Delhi Chief Electoral Officer P Krishnamurthy told PTI

Will waive farmers' loans, bring MSP, if come to power: Akhilesh in UP's Jalaun

Farmers' loans will be waived and Minimum Support Price will be guaranteed, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Tuesday while addressing an election meeting in Jalaun, where he sought votes for party candidate Narayan Das Ahirwar.

 

He also attacked the BJP alleging it did nothing for the state despite being in power for the past 10 years.

 

"The people of Bundelkhand overwhelmingly voted for the BJP. For the last 10 years, they (BJP) have been the MPs and their government is there. The Uttar Pradesh government has been in power for seven years. This government did not give anything to the people of Bundelkhand, especially Orai, Jalaun and Kalpi. The government in Delhi (Centre) and the Uttar Pradesh government did nothing for the development of this place," he said.

Congress plotting to send Ram Lala to tent again, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attacked the Congress, accusing it of indulging in "shameful" politics and plotting to send "Ram Lala to tent" again. Alleging that the JMM, Congress and INDIA bloc have become the biggest model of corruption, appeasement and dynastic politics, Modi said he has resolved to free India from these vices. Addressing a public meeting at Jharkhand's Giridih, the prime minister said, "Shameful statements are being issued by Congress leaders over Ram temple. Their leaders are plotting to send Ram Lala to the tent once again, and talk against the Supreme Court judgement." The old idol of Ram Lala was kept in a tent-like structure after the Babri Masjid was demolished. They want to lock the premises again, he claimed and urged people to oust such "corrupt" forces. PM Modi said, "Congress forced the nation to Naxalism, whereas BJP contained Naxal violence in the country."

Abrogation of Article 370 showing result in J-K's poll percentage: Home Minister Amit Shah

"The Modi government's decision to abrogate Article 370 is showing results in the poll percentage as well. It has enhanced people's trust in democracy and its roots have deepened in Jammu and Kashmir," Hoem Minister Amity Shah wrote on 'X'. The home minister's remarks came a day after about 38 per cent polling was recorded in the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency where polling was held in the 4th phase of the General Elections. Srinagar recorded 14.43 per cent polling in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, 25.86 per cent in 2014, 25.55 per cent in 2009 and 18.57 per cent in 2004.

Lok Sabha polls 2024: Srinagar records 38% voter turnout, highest since 1996

A voter turnout of 38 per cent was seen in the redrawn Srinagar Lok Sabha seat without any major disturbances on Monday, the highest since 1996 when the constituency in Jammu and Kashmir saw nearly 41 per cent polling.
