2023 Parliament attack case: Delhi L-G accords prosecution sanction against 6 accused under UAPA

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena accorded prosecution sanction against 6 persons under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for allegedly attacking the Parliament, the Office of L-G said in a statement on Thursday. The attack took place on December 13, when the House proceedings were on.

 

Six persons, namely Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde, Neelam Ranolia, Lalit Jha and Mahesh Kumawat, are accused of illegally entering the Parliament and throwing smoke canisters in the Lok Sabha during the live session, it said.

On Monday, three coaches of the Taj Express train caught fire in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident as passengers managed to get out of the affected coaches in time, according to officials.
