Why are gold and silver under pressure?
Vikram Subburaj, chief executive officer of Giottus.com, said gold and silver were under pressure on Thursday because of a stronger US dollar and expectations that interest rates could remain elevated for longer.
Pressure on bullion increased after the US Federal Reserve kept its policy rate unchanged at 3.75-4.00 per cent, he said.
