JSW MG Motor India on Friday announced a collaboration with Vision Mechatronics for repurposing used electric vehicle batteries with a homegrown battery management system for second-life usage in large-scale energy storage. The project with Vision Mechatronics, a technology company in the field of second-life batteries, will initially focus on a UPS backup solution and the first product has been deployed for an industrial facility in Pune to demonstrate the versatility and effectiveness of second-life EV batteries. Under the collaboration, JSW MG Motor India will provide EV batteries that are no longer roadworthy, to Vision Mechatronics which in turn will repurpose it into a second-life large-scale energy storage application. Premium EV motorcycle startup Raptee on Tuesday said it has raised USD 3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The all-equity funding round led by deep-tech VC fund BlueHill Capital, also saw participation from industry stalwarts as well as HNIs, Raptee said in a statement. The funds will be utilised for augmenting the manufacturing facility, acquiring machinery, tooling for the soon-to-be launched motorcycle, and to scale up the team, it said. "This is our first institutional round. We want to launch a motorcycle in a mid-premium segment. Ride-hailing app Uber on Wednesday announced partnerships with various electric vehicle makers and other entities in India to accelerate the transition of its partners towards sustainable mobility. The company said it has expanded its partnership with EV fleet partners Lithium Urban Technologies, Everest Fleet Pvt Ltd and Moove in order to deploy 25,000 electric cars in India on the Uber platform over the next two years. Besides, Uber said it has teamed up with Zypp Electric for 10,000 EV two-wheelers in Delhi by 2024. The company also announced a partnership with SIDBI to unlock Rs 1,000 crore in EV financing. Uber said it is also bringing its global partnership with BP to India through Jio-bp and has also tied up with GMR Green Energy for fast charging Uber EVs.
