Top FMCG firms reshuffle leadership as industry navigates growth challenges

The Indian fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is witnessing a wave of leadership changes, with several leading companies appointing new chief executives and elevating senior executives as they seek to sharpen execution, drive growth and adapt to an evolving consumer landscape. In the last 12 months or so, at least half a dozen major FMCG companies, including Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), Dabur India, Britannia Industries and Colgate-Palmolive India, have announced transitions at the top level, with Nestle India's own change of guard having taken place just before that window. Patanjali Foods Q1 result: Profit jumps 86% to ₹336 crore on higher income

Patanjali Foods Ltd has reported an 86 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 335.73 crore in the quarter ended June, backed by higher total income. Its net profit stood at Rs 180.35 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose to Rs 11,341.89 crore during the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 8,779 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year, according to a regulatory filing. Edible oil business contributed Rs 8,504 crore revenue during the April-June period of the 2026-27 fiscal, while the FMCG vertical accounted for Rs 2937.74 crore of the total revenue. Incorporated in 1986, Patanjali Foods Limited is one of the leading edible oil companies in the country. The company operates in the Edible Oils, FMCG, and Wind Power Generation segments. Employee headcount shrinks at HUL, Dabur amid hike in median pay in FY26

India's top FMCG companies presented a mixed picture on staff strength in 2025-26, with Hindustan Unilever and Dabur trimming their permanent workforce even as most players in the sector raised median employee remuneration, according to disclosures in their annual reports. While Nestle India, Marico and Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) added to their headcount during the fiscal, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and Dabur saw a decline in permanent employees on their rolls, the filings showed. FMCG major has rejected allegations circulating on social media regarding the alleged presence of infestation in Maggi noodles, asserting that laboratory tests on a batch and market samples confirmed that products met all quality and food safety standards.
