GMR Aero Technic, India's leading airframe Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation, on Monday said it has signed a three-year agreement with Akasa Air, for base maintenance support of its Boeing 737 MAX fleet. GMR Airports Ltd on Thursday said its subsidiary GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd has completed the acquisition of 70 per cent stake in its associate company -- ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd. GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd (GHAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, already holds a 30 per cent stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd (EGLPPL). EGLPPL, an associate company of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, is into development of warehousing and logistics parks in Hyderabad. For the transaction, GMR Hyderabad International Airport had entered into a share purchase agreement with other shareholders. "... Fair trade regulator CCI has dismissed allegations of anti-competitive practices against GMR Airports and Delhi Airport with respect to the awarding of certain contracts. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital is operated by the GMR Group-led consortium Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). It was alleged by an NGO that GMR Airports was engaged in monopolistic practices and charging excessive fees for contracts related to parking and lounge services at the IGIA. After reviewing submissions from the involved parties, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said the contracts for parking and lounge services were awarded through a competitive bidding process, as mandated under the Operation, Management, and Development Agreement (OMDA). The GMR Group, which operates the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here, is expecting a rise in passenger traffic to 50 million annually by FY 31, up from the current 29 million in FY 25. Pradeep Panicker, Chief Executive Officer of GHIAL said the firm is in the process of investing Rs 370 crore for the expansion of existing cargo terminal, besides setting up a new one to take the capacity close to 4.0 lakh tons annually. GMR Smart Electricity Distribution Private Ltd has bagged Rs 2,469.71 crore smart meter installation project in Uttar Pradesh, the company said on Wednesday. GMR Smart Electricity Distribution Private Ltd (GSEDPL), a GMR Group company, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) to install smart meters in the Agra and Aligarh zones in UP, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd (GPUIL) said. "GMR Group receives LOA for smart metering project from Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL)," GPUIL said in a regulatory filing. The total contract value (inclusive of GST) for Agra and Aligarh zone is about Rs 2,469.71 crore, it said. The GSEDPL will install, integrate and maintain 25.52 lakh smart meters in the aforementioned areas, GPUIL said. The project is expected to be completed in 27 months, it added.
