A chaotic situation unfolded at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here after Indigo airlines cancelled 13 flights to various destinations, including Delhi and Bangalore from here, airport sources said. The airport, however, maintained that some IndiGo flights have been impacted due to airline-related technology and operational issues, resulting in delays and cancellations. The Enforcement Directorate has seized a business jet parked at the Hyderabad airport as part of a money laundering investigation against a Hyderabad-based company and its promoters who allegedly duped numerous investors in a Rs 850 crore Ponzi "scam", official sources said on Saturday. The money laundering case stems from a Cyberabad police FIR against Falcon Group (Capital Protection Force Pvt. Ltd.), its CMD Amar Deep Kumar and some others, the sources said. It is alleged that the Falcon Group "collected" Rs 1,700 crore from investors for high returns through a "fraudulent" invoice discounting investment scheme. Rs 850 crore, out of the total funds, was re-paid leaving a total of 6,979 investors unpaid, according to the sources. Kumar, the sources said, fled the country using this jet. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here has witnessed the landing of one of the world's largest cargo aeroplane, Airbus Beluga. A press release from the airport operator on Monday said the whale-shaped Beluga landed here on Sunday night and would take off today. GMR Hyderabad International Airport made special arrangements for its landing, parking and take-off. The Beluga is known for its ability to transport oversized air cargo, it said. Earlier, the world's biggest cargo aircraft Antonov An-225 made its first landing here in May 2016. The Hyderabad airport was chosen based on the infrastructure strength and technical parameters, the release added.
