Westlife Foodworld, operator of McDonald's restaurants in West and South India, on Wednesday reported a decline of 62.5 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1.22 crore in the June quarter. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3.25 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from Westlife Foodworld. However, its sale rose 6.45 per cent to Rs 653.25 crore in the June quarter of FY26. In the year-ago period, the same stood at Rs 613.64 crore. Total expenses of Westlife Foodworld in the June quarter climbed 7.43 per cent to Rs 662.78 crore. Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt Ltd (CPRL), the master franchiser for McDonald's restaurants in India for north and east regions, has plans to invest up to USD 150 million (Rs 1,280.7 crore) in next three to four years for expansion of network of quick service restaurant outlets, said a top company official. It has plans to take the store count by 300 by the end of this year from its existing 245 and then double it in the next three to four years from there, as part of its aggressive expansion plans, said Anant Agarwal, Vice Chairman- MMG Group & CPRL. Besides, CPRL, part of USD 1.2 billion MMG Group, is also expanding McCafe, the in-restaurant caf brand of McDonald's, from its 125 outlets presently to 200 by the end of this year. The Telangana government on Wednesday announced a major partnership with global fast-food chain McDonald's, which will set up its Global Office in Hyderabad. The Global Office is being planned with an initial headcount of 2,000 employees, a release from the CMO said. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and McDonald's Chairman and CEO Chris Kempczinski closed a major partnership spanning several areas, including McDonald's investing in the Global Capability Centre (GCC), it said. "In a meeting with McDonald's Chairman and CEO Chris Kempczinski, who was accompanied by Skye Anderson, President Global Business Services, Jon Banner, Chief Global Impact officer and Deshant Kaila, Head, GBS India, the two sides reached a final agreement," the release said.
