Jio-bp, DRIVN in pact to explore charging solutions for commercial EV fleet

Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Ltd -- a joint venture of Reliance Industries and bp -- on Tuesday announced it has signed an MoU with electric vehicle (EV) leasing platform DRIVN, to explore opportunities to strengthen charging infrastructure across India for commercial EVs, including trucks and buses. The collaboration brings together DRIVN's commercial EV leasing capabilities and Jio-bp's charging network to address the evolving needs of fleet operators and support the expansion of commercial electric mobility, a statement said. Together, the two companies will explore integrating Jio-bp's charging network with DRIVN's leasing platform, including enhanced charging-location discoverability for fleet drivers. The partnership will also explore preferential tariffs and turnkey EV charging projects across identified cities and highways. Mahindra unveils new-gen heavy vehicle with AI-enabled auto drive mode

Mahindra Truck and Bus on Monday launched its new-generation heavy commercial vehicle BLAZO i-TRK, equipped with an AI-enabled automatic drive mode and a 320 HP engine, with the company claiming it delivers up to 10 per cent better fuel efficiency. Unveiling the heavy vehicle range at an event here, the company boasted that the new truck could potentially generate up to Rs 15 lakh in additional profit per vehicle over five years through fuel savings and improved operational efficiency. Review finds 44% of US truck driving schools non-compliant with govt rules

Nearly 44% of the 16,000 truck driving programmes listed nationwide by the US government may be forced to close if they lose their students after a review by the federal Transportation Department found they may not be complying with minimum requirements. The Transportation Department said Monday that it plans to revoke the certification of nearly 3,000 schools unless they can comply with training requirements in the next 30 days. The targeted schools must notify students that their certification is in jeopardy. Another 4,500 schools are being warned they may face similar action. Schools that lose certification will no longer be able to issue the certificates showing a driver completed training that's required to get a license, so students are likely to abandon those schools. DFCCIL seeks more wagons for truck-on-train service amid rising demand

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited has requested the Railway Board to provide additional wagons suitable for its truck-on-train service, officials said on Sunday. The truck-on-train (ToT) service enables the transportation of trucks and milk tankers on specially designed wagons. It was launched on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor on September 18, 2023 and plies between Rewari in Haryana and Palanpur in Gujarat. The service significantly reduces transportation cost and time, traffic congestion, and air pollution, among other benefits. Officials said that nearly a year after the launch, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) wrote to the Railway Board seeking more wagons to tap its growing business potential, and has been pursuing the request since then.
