Icra Ltd on Friday said its net profit for the December quarter declined 32 per cent to Rs 10.52 crore from Rs 15.51 crore a year ago. Operating income grew four per cent to Rs 38.45 crore, from Rs 36.96 crore a year earlier. &ldquo;The growth in operating revenue was mainly led by debt ratings besides NSIC/SME business ratings, whereas bank loan ratings remained subdued during the period,&rdquo; it said.

Shriram Transport Finance, part of the Shriram Group, has reported 19.43 per cent growth in its consolidated net profit to Rs 375.49 crore for the third quarter ended December 31. The Chennai-based company had reported consolidated net profit of Rs 314.39 crore during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Consolidated total income rose to Rs 1,796.16 crore against Rs 1,549.49 crore during the same period a year ago.

Edelweiss Financial Services on Friday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 46 crore in the third quarter, a 56 per cent increase over the year-ago period when it netted Rs 29-crore profit, driven by a huge increase in fees from its credit business. Its subsidiary Edelweiss Capital posted net profit at Rs 29.4 crore, up 12 per cent from Rs 26.3 a year ago. Total income grew 22.3 per cent to Rs 455 crore from Rs 372 crore.

Bangalore-based public sector defence major Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) reported a 13 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 197.59 crore for the third quarter ended December 2012, compared with Rs 174.64 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Net sales increased marginally &mdash; 1 per cent &mdash; to Rs 1,444 crore as against Rs 1,432 crore. The operating profit went up 27 per cent to Rs 128 crore as against Rs 101 crore.
