Aarti Drugs eyes to buy a Baddi company for toll manufacturing

Aarti Drugs Ltd, a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, is reportedly looking to acquire a company located in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, to meet the growing demand of its toll manufacturing business. Aarti Drugs has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the company at its meeting held on July 07, 2014, has considered a proposal to acquire an undertaking/company at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh to cater its existing business of toll manufacturing of formulations as an initiative to have its own facilities for this business subject to necessary diligences and approval processes.
 
Aarti Drugs currently has two production facilities - located at Tarapur (Maharashtra) and Sarigam (Gujarat) – to manufacture over 50 bulk actives, several key intermediates and speciality chemicals. The presence of a manufacturing site in Baddi, which is host to number of leading pharmaceutical companies, will give a boost to Aarti Drugs’ contract manufacturing business.
