It is produced by London-based manufacturer of advanced vibration products Power Plate International (PPI), which not only helps the user lose weight but also increases bone density and as a whole improves one's health.

Power Plate is introduced in the country by Hero Motors after it formed a joint venture with PPI. The joint venture is called Power Plate India (Pvt) Ltd.

Founder and Inventor of Power Plate, Guus van der Meer, said that working out on it would be good for the whole body including muscles, shoulders and biceps.

In addition, the machine is supposed to be very useful for those suffering from osteoporosis (a degenerative disease of the bones) in aiding such patients to increase their bone density, he pointed out.

Guus van der Meer has designed the machine mainly on breathing and respiratory pattern. According to him, everyone including people up to the age of 94 years can use the machine.

Over the last few years, Power Plate has expanded into the market leader in the area of acceleration training. "This equipment allows even the weakest, least trainable people to exercise while working within their personal physical limitations," he pointed out.

Besides managing the brand in India, Hero Motors has tied up with PPI to set up a manufacturing plant for global delivery of Power Plate machines, Hero Motors said in a statement.
