Whoever said electric cars can't shock?

Electric cars are no longer un-cool. Here are three new cars that are sparking a new revolution.

 

Plus, environmentally speaking, the Nice is a nice idea. MyCar comes in seven nice colours, and the power windows, mirrors, radio/mp3 player, 14-inch alloys, remote central locking and an LCD multi-function display are all standard. You can even opt for a nice glass roof, or a removable fibre one, 15-inch wheels, leather interiors, heated and cooled seats and a boot rack. Nice, eh?

TH!NK FORWARD
The company claims that this is the only crash-tested and highway-certified EV there is. Top speed is just over 100 kph, and it will run a whopping 200 km on a charge.

 

The car will get to 50 kph in 6.5 seconds, Th!nk say recharging from 20 per cent to 80 per cent charge takes just four hours. Oh, and it has ABS and airbags too.

Standard equipment includes power steering, central locking, heater, electric windows and mirrors. Full aircon, pre-heater, heated windscreen, full-length sunroof, radio (CD, mp3, USB, Bluetooth), navigation, alloys, roof rack and +2 child seats are optional. No prices yet, though.

AWE STRUCK
The car shares its PML wheel motors with the (640 bhp) electric Mini. Oh, and the Lightning has it all — regenerative braking, aircon, navigation and leather. The firm claims a 4.0 second run to 100 kph, but no range numbers yet, though despite that you can deposit money to book one.

MYCAR MY GOD
The two-seater EV will go on sale in the UK shortly for roughly $18,000. Nice have been nice enough to say that the car will manage about 65 km per charge in the city (roughly the same range as the Reva, sold there as the G-Wiz), taking 6-8 hours per charge.
