Maruti suspends production temporarily at Manesar, Gurgaon plants, following fire at component supplier\'s unit

“Owing to an unfortunate incident of fire at the Manesar facilities of our supplier, Subros Ltd, on Sunday, supplies of components from that plant have been disrupted,” said a Maruti release.

Subros and Maruti Suzuki are jointly assessing the extent of damage to essential equipment. “We are also examining the options available to start supply of components from other facilities,” added the release. “Production will resume as soon as components become available.”

Subros is one of the largest and only integrated manufacturing unit for auto air-conditioning systems. It manufactures compressors, condensers, heat exchangers and all connecting elements required to complete the AC loop. It caters to all segments of the transport sector including passenger vehicles, buses, trucks, refrigeration transport, off-roaders and even the railways.

The company has manufacturing plants at Noida, Manesar, Pune, Chennai and Sanand with an annual capacity of 1.5 million AC kits.
