City-based infrastructure company KMC Infratech Limited (KMCIL), a subsidiary of KMC Constructions Limited (KMCCL), has received an equity investment of Rs 500 crore from 3i India Infrastructure Fund.
3i India is established by international private equity firm 3i Group Plc, which is focused on private equity, infrastructure and debt management.
KMCIL currently owns a portfolio of 10 build, operate and transfer (BOT) projects in the roads sector involving laying of 5,000 km of roads across the country. The company has previously raised private equity capital from the Blue River Capital-led investor group comprising Sequoia Capital and IDFC.
“Looking ahead, we see opportunities to work together with 3i on further investments,” KMCCL managing director, M Goutham Reddy, stated in a press release.
