Ambati Venu, Asia vice president of GSK Consumer Healthcare, has been appointed as managing director of Abbott India. He replaces Rehan Khan who quit the company in February.
Prior to his Asia appointment, Venu headed the commercial operations for GSK's Middle East & North Africa businesses across 17 countries, among the company's fastest growing and most complex business environments.
"Venu's background in FMCG and OTC medicine, ability to embrace diverse cultures, engender trust and deliver productivity-led growth will be key assets at Abbott," the company said in a statement.
Venu will be based out of Mumbai and report to Bhasker Iyer, Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals Division, Abbott.
