Affimity, Bengaluru-based social networking platform, today launched two new channels -- start-ups and Make in India -- on its platform. The two new channels will facilitate entrepreneurs and readers to read and share interesting posts and articles that could be of use to their peers. Users can also use these channels to connect with people within their circle of interest.
Affimity, which raised $1.2 million (around Rs 8 crore) in an angel round of funding from Silicon Valley investors and founders last month, currently has channels on topics including food, movies, TV shows, politics, fitness and music.
"With two new channels on our platform, people can now share posts and articles related to start-ups that could be useful for every entrepreneur or anyone who inspires to be one. Unlike your Facebook and Twitter, we provide our users a fully-integrated experience to communicate and share interesting posts with others who share the same interest," Parveen Mittal, co-founder and country manager, Affimity, said in a statement.
The two-year-old start-up has users in the US, Asia, Africa and other countries with over 40 channels and over a million users. The company aims to reach a target of 10 million global user base by December 2016, with India contributing 40% to it.
